The bookmarklet below should help provide more seamless access to subscription sources when off campus. To add the bookmarklet to your toolbar, just drag and drop. If you are off campus and go directly to a resource website, for example ACM Digital Library, just click on the bookmarklet in your bookmark toolbar to convert the URL and be routed through the library proxy server.

Library databases are electronic catalogs or indexes of published content. They contain information about articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers, reference information from encyclopedias, electronic books, and other electronic documents. This information includes things like article abstracts, citation information, and links to full text.

Electronic journals are digital versions of academic journals. Journal content (articles) is often indexed in library databases, and this is where you will most likely discover journal articles for your research, but sometimes the library subscribes to an individual journal as well. Journals contain research articles relevant to a discipline and are a good place to look up recent research activity from in your field.
