What do I need to check out a book or DVD at the Kaufman Library?
- An active account in our circulation system.
- No blocks on your account (from overdue, lost, or damaged items, or unpaid fines/fees).
- Your Claw Card or a current, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, etc.)
- GGC Campus Partners (such as Aramark employees) must present their employee I.D. and a government-issued photo I.D.
- Gwinnett County Public Library and Gwinnett Technical College patrons: See Community Borrowers.

How do I get a Kaufman Library account?
- Students: You should already have an active account on the first day of the semester. If not, our Circulation Desk staff will assist you.
- Faculty and Staff: Fill out a patron registration form and present either your Claw Card or a government-issued photo I.D.
- GGC Campus Partners (such as the food service vendor employees): Fill out a patron registration form. Present your employee I.D. and a government-issued photo I.D.

What can I do with my Kaufman Library account (aka "GIL" account)?
- Check out materials at the Kaufman Library.
- GGC Students, Faculty, and Staff only:
- Request University System of Georgia books online via our GIL Express.
- Go to other USG schools as a walk-up patron and check out eligible materials there.
- Gwinnett County Public Library and Gwinnett Technical College patrons: See Community Borrowers.
What can I do online with my Kaufman Library account (GGC Students, Faculty, and Staff)?
- See the titles and due dates of your current check-outs.
- Renew eligible materials (do this the day before they are due!)
- Check the status of your GIL Express requests.
- Check to see if you have any fines, fees, or blocks on your account.
- Get the current GALILEO password.
- GGC Campus Partners, Gwinnett County Public Library patrons, and Gwinnett Technical College patrons do not have online access to their Kaufman Library accounts.
